On July 3, 1938, The Chicago Tribune devoted 4 pages of its comics section to a new strip concerning the exploits of a "bone-headed pitcher...with a genius for getting into jams on the diamond and off." Allow me to introduce Buck Haney of the Beavers! Buck's misadventures were penned by John Lardner (son of Ring) and drawn by Grant Powers. So go ahead, baseball fans, enjoy the first eight episodes of Buck as published in the Trib that fateful day. And if you'd like to learn a little bit more about the strip, click on over to this informative post at the Stripper's Guide.
Bonus: enjoy a few daily adventures of Buck Hanson of the Badgers strips as well...I haven't seen enough of these two strips to say for sure whether the daily is a continuation of the Sunday, or if someone just hit the reset button. I'd guess the latter, but anything is possible.
