My grandfather passed away just before this last Thanksgiving, after a rich and rewarding ninety year run. Today would have been his ninety-first birthday, and to mark the occasion, here are a couple of comics that appeared the day he was born, from two of my very favorite cartoonists: Sidney Smith and Clare Briggs.
